Why Should I Join the SIPOA Board

As Snell Isle property owners, we should all care about our neighborhood, its safety and the beauty of our surroundings. One of the best ways to do so is to become involved and volunteer to serve on the board. That way you can have a direct say in what happens on Snell Isle. SIPOA board and committee positions are made up of volunteers, however, knowing our community is being serviced by people who truly care gives board members a real sense of accomplishment.

We all have a vested interest in our properties. One of the most important priorities of each and every homeowner is to protect the value of our homes. Becoming involved with SIPOA will put you in a better position to make and implement rules in our community. In fact, some of the rules and regulations may have an impact on the value of our properties, especially if they involve decisions about SIPOA’s budget, socials, beautification and maintenance.

SIPOA also is involved in helping to solve problems in our community. If you are noticing problems such as lack of maintenance, broken fountains or statues, or perhaps there’s a problem with flooding, then you have the opportunity to take charge and help to correct those issues by being a part of the board.

The SIPOA board endeavors to keep our membership informed via our website: www.enjoysnellisle.com and through articles, event calendars and pictures in The Panther, the monthly magazine that goes out to all residents free of charge. By serving on the board, you can help to create and be a part of all that we do for our community.

By joining the board and becoming involved you will gain a better understanding of the by-laws. Volunteering as a board member will help familiarize you with the rules and regulations of SIPOA. It will also allow you to have input regarding the way we spend your money.

As part of the board you will meet new people, make new friends and even have some fun. Joining the board won’t be boring. It can be fun, especially when you get to socialize, work with your neighbors and brainstorm innovative ideas to improve Snell Isle. As you may also know, SIPOA periodically has holiday parties and social events for all our residents as well. This is a great way to expand your horizons.

Joining the board can be very rewarding and give you a sense of pride, knowing that you are giving back to the community. Doing so affords you the opportunity to make good decisions that will have a positive impact on all residents.

For those of you who don’t want to join the board, perhaps consider chairing a committee like hospitality, safety & security, party planning, landscaping/beautification, or maybe you have your own pet project that you might want SIPOA to take on? We welcome your input, the more the better.

So, if you are interested in making a difference, whether seeking to serve on our board, or simply volunteering to head a committee, please submit your name, and contact information to our communications chairman, Howard Pollack at: This email address is being protected from spambots.
