C. Perry Snell Monument Update

Major damage was sustained when the C. Perry Snell Monument was hit by a vehicle in the early morning hours of January 13th.

Thanks to the City of St. Petersburg, the monument is on its way to being repaired. A company has been contacted to repair the damaged monument and the marble tiled circle. It is our understanding that pieces of the monument will be taken off site for the repairs. Once they are complete, the monument will be put back in place.

Barricades have been placed around the area. Please refrain from going near this end of the plaza until further notice. There are many hazardous areas that could cause serious injury.

During this time, we will be working with different City departments with regards to new landscaping, and the potential for a change in the traffic pattern to prevent future accidents such as this one or the several that have occurred at this location over the last few years. Hopefully a plan can be created that would not only be a safe alternative, but one that would also be aesthetically pleasing.

We thank the City and those involved for always working with us to make Snell Isle a wonderful place to live! Please visit our website, www.enjoysnellisle.com, for future updates and other information.
