For large items like furniture, mattresses, appliances and excess yard waste, there's only one magic spell to make it go away: Special Pickup! Don’t leave them out on the curb or alley - call the Sanitation Department at 727-893-7398 or submit in SeeClickFix to request a quote. Some items can even be collected for free!

Glow up and join Healthy St. Pete for the 4th Annual Fit City 5K! To allow for safe physical distance, the event has gone virtual this year. Complete the race Oct. 4-10 on your own time and on your favorite route.

Registration is $25 and includes a race bib and medal and supports local youth recreation. Register by Sept. 21 to get a free race T-shirt and glow kit. Find more information and registration at HealthyStPeteFL.com FALSE ALARM UPDATE A false alarm is when a security alarm goes off, the Police show up and there's no evidence of criminal activity, attempted criminal activity or an emergency at the premises. The City has handed off customer service, notices, billing and disputes for the false alarm program to an outside vendor. This should offer a more streamlined customer experience.

Sept. 5 is International Day of Charity. Celebrate with the Utility Assistance Program, which allows you to make easy, automatic charitable donations through your utility bill. Collected funds are distributed through a network of social service agencies to help St. Pete families in need.

You can make a one-time contribution or commit to monthly donations for any amount. With the new Utility Bill Round-Up option, your bill is rounded up to the nearest dollar and the rest is donated. That's less than $12/year! Learn more and sign up to donate at stpete.org/utilityassistance

COMPLETE YOUR 2020 CENSUS The census is here! Every 10 years, the federal government uses the census to count every resident in the U.S. This data dictates everything from seats in U.S. Congress to billions of dollars in federal funding for healthcare, education and local programs for the next 10 years.
