Stormwater Master Plan Input

You should be receiving a postcard about an upcoming virtual public meeting regarding the City’s Stormwater Master Plan. Given the floodwater in various areas on Snell Isle, we encourage you to review the map and complete the floodplain map input form to be of assistance to the City. If you reside in an area with few (or no) stormwater drains, this is your opportunity to voice your concern. If you drive through our neighborhood after a storm you know there are a number of areas on Snell Isle that need to be addressed. This is your time to speak up!

40th Ave NE Bridge Closure Date Change

For those who drive across the 40th Ave bridge to Shore Acres and take Overlook into Snell Isle, your commute will be disrupted in the very near future. There is an article in the March Panther, but since that went to press, the city has delayed the bridge closure a few days. High winds will impact the ability to move the cranes safely this weekend as planned, therefore the bridge is now scheduled to close down both lanes on March 6 (5:00 AM) until 5:00 PM on March 11th.

Given that the whole bridge will be closed for that time, a significant amount of traffic will re-route through Snell Isle over the 34th or 22nd Ave entrances. Be aware and plan for a little extra time. If you wish to read about the bridge construction project, you can see more details here: http://www.40thavenuebridge.com/
