Planters and Statues Donations Update:

July 12 – We are over halfway to our $5000 goal on our Planter and Statue Beautification Project. That’s when we will get a matching check of $5000 from our friends at the Rally Store at 22nd & 4th Street. Way to go everyone and thank you to all who donated.

We still need your help to reach our $5000 goal. Have you sent in your check? If not, please know how much we’d appreciate your support! Send your check to SIPOA at PO Box 7053, St. Petersburg, FL, 33734 AND please write on your check either “Rally” or “Beautification” so it can count towards our $5000 goal.

Also when you fuel up or drop in to purchase food or beverage at the Rally Store on 22nd Ave and 4th St, please THANK THEM for their support of Snell Isle. Few businesses would be willing to do a match like Rally.

Planters and Statues Beautification Update – Planters Done ! ! !

I hope you’re enjoying the new plantings all over the Isle. The planter part of our project is now complete and many of the volunteers are already working on “face-lifting” their adopted animals. If you pass a volunteer who is working on one, tap your horn to make them hear of your appreciation. We have 161 total statues all over Snell Isle so you can imagine the man-hours going into this Beautification Project. The volunteer corps is fantastic and we have Scout Troop 0219 who has adopted 10 of our statues to clean and paint as they earn their Scout Badges.

We still have some wonderful statues looking for “adoption”. Please call Bonnie Hargrett to sign up to help.

Name the Panther Contest

Can you help? The poor pitiful Panther statues have gone years without a common first name. The lions are all called “Leo”, but we have never give the Panthers a name . . . until now.

We will list the suggestions and you can vote on the best one for our lovely cats. The Panthers all thank you for doing this.
