Thanksgiving Holiday Closures

St. Petersburg, Fla. (November 16, 2017) – Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, there will be no Thursday trash or recycling pickup for residential customers in St. Petersburg. Instead, Thursday collections will be made on Wednesday for both regular trash as well as recycling. Monday, Tuesday and Friday collections remain the same the week of November 20 to 24.

Three public golf courses - Mangrove Bay, Cypress Links, and Twin Brooks - are the only city facilities OPEN on Thanksgiving Day.

Some city facilities will be closed to the public both Thursday and Friday, November 23 and 24, including: City Hall and Municipal Services Center downtown, Coliseum box office and business office, The Greenhouse, Enoch Davis Center, Jamestown Apartments and Townhomes office, Dwight H. Jones Neighborhood Center, seven community libraries, recreation centers, Sunshine Center and Sunken Gardens business offices.

City facilities closed Thursday, but OPEN for business on Friday, November 24 include Boyd Hill Nature Preserve; Coliseum (Gem, Jewelry, Bead Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fri.); Mahaffey Theater at Duke Energy Center for the Arts; Municipal beach concession stand (on Gulf Blvd. in Treasure Island); Municipal Marina Ship’s Store; North Shore Aquatic Complex; Sanitation department Brush Sites; and Sunken Gardens attraction.

The Coliseum is open Friday to Sunday for a Gem, Jewelry and Bead Show, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

EARLY CLOSINGS. The West Community Library at St. Petersburg College Gibbs campus will be closed Wednesday, November 22 through Saturday, November 25.

RESIDENTIAL TRASH & RECYCLING SERVICE REMINDER. The week of November 20 to 24, St. Petersburg’s residential trash and recycling collections normally made on Thursday will be made on Wednesday. Collections on Monday, Tuesday and Friday remain the same. Brush sites will be closed on Thursday but will be OPEN regular hours on Friday.
