Happy Halloween to all our Snell Isle families. This Wednesday should be a fun-filled day for all our little ghosts, goblins, princesses and princes. Here is just a quick reminder of some safety tips as you trick-or-treat around the Isle. Have a boooooooooooooo-tiful Halloween everyone.
Drive Extra Safely on Halloween – Please, please, please slow down and be especially alert. Popular trick-or-treating hours are 5:30 to 9:30. Children are very excited on Halloween and may move in unpredictable ways. Turn your headlights on earlier in the day to spot children from greater distances.
Walk Safely – Look left, right and left again when crossing and keep looking as you cross the street. Watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Do not dart out into the street or cross between parked cars.
Trick or Treat with an Adult – Children under the age of 12 should not be alone at night without adult supervision.
Keep Costumes both Creative and Safe – Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape or stickers. Choose face paint and makeup whenever possible instead of masks. Have kids carry glow sticks or flashlights to help them see and be seen by drivers.
