Free Christmas Tree Collection 1/12/2019

Residents can dispose of their Christmas trees during a free collection event on January 12. Simply put out the undecorated tree at the location where trash is usually collected.

Trees should be loose and not placed inside trash or recycling containers or against trees, electrical poles, other trash containers or water meters. All lights, ornaments, decorations, tree stands and plastic tree disposal bags must be removed from the tree before placing it out for collection. Holiday wreaths may be disposed of in trash containers. All collected trees will be turned into mulch, which is free to residents at the brush sites.

After January 12, residents may contact Sanitation Special Collections at 893-7398, Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Residents calling after normal business hours may leave a message with their address and trees will be picked up where trash is usually collected.

Undecorated trees may also be taken to one of the city’s five brush sites. More information here: www.stpete.org/brushsites
