Food Truck Wednesday - TODAY 5pm - 8pm

It’s Food Truck Wednesday at Northeast Church on Shore Acres this Wednesday (4/20) from 5 - 8 PM! Take a break from cooking and get some great American food from the Slammer Shop food truck and finish it off with an amazing dessert from the Funnel Vision truck.

We’re also collecting non-perishable food donations for the St. Pete Free Clinic. So please bring a food item to help those in need during this challenging time. Those who make a donation will get a free drink from the truck!

There’s plenty of room in the church parking lot to get your food and maintain social distancing. Stop by 4400 Shore Acres Blvd, 33703 on Wednesday and don’t forget your food donation.

Message from Snell Isle President

With 2 auto thefts on Snell Isle in the last week, you can expect those who commit these crimes to keep returning, hoping to find other opportunities to take what doesn’t belong to them! Please remind your family members to lock up, take those keys OUT of the car, remove all valuables and stay alert. We are all only as good as our weakest link…don’t let that weak link be YOU!

If you see anything suspicious, please call the Police at 893-7780. They’d much rather come to check something out and PREVENT a crime than take a report AFTER a crime’s been committed. And with the Holidays right around the corner, we don’t want to make it easy for crimes of opportunity! Please stress this to every family member…when we all work together, good things can happen.

Stay Safe, Bonnie Hargrett

St. Petersburg Residential Composting Program

The City of St. Petersburg has launched its first residential composting program. Residents in single-family homes who are interested in composting are invited to sign up for the free and voluntary program and minimize their environmental impact by turning kitchen and yard waste into usable, nutrient-rich fertilizer.

Participants in the composting program will receive a composting bin from the City to use in their backyard. There will be no collection service, but the resident will be responsible for feeding and maintaining the bin and will reap the benefits of the nutrient-rich compost by spreading it on their lawn or garden.

More information and the composting bin request form can be found at www.stpete.org/composting

Summer Social

SIPOA has planned a Family Summer Social at the Woman’s Club for a fun gathering on August 11th, a Sunday afternoon, just before school starts. We want to provide events that encourage residents to come out and enjoy the food, the fun and the camaraderie. Only problem, we have less than 5 reservations and we can’t plan an event without your support.

Your July Panther publication and the EnjoySnellIsle.com website each have details regarding this event. It's planned to be a catered party with games for both adults and children and we thought having it in the cool comfort of the Woman’s Club would make it a fun gathering. We’re happy to plan this party but it’s not cost-effective unless we have at least 75 people planning to attend. If this isn’t something you and your family are interested in, that’s fine, we can plan something different later in the year that might pique your interest. But please let us hear from you by Sunday, July 21st, if you’d like to join us.

Please contact our Communications Chairman, Howard Pollack, at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or by phone at ‭(516) 356-0988‬ to make your reservation. We look forward to hearing from you!
